Made it. I’m Here.
Gainesville, GA.
The South:
Home of humidity.
Braves Fans.
Chiggers.
And Georgia Peaches (the girl version & the fruit version).
So I realize during the race I inundated you with blog posts blowing up your inbox with the happenings of the World Race. Well this season won’t be much different. I will still be lighting up your gmail’s, hotmail’s, and comcast.net’s (for the older demographics), with blogs, support updates, and hopefully the compelling story or two.
I’ll try to keep them short. To the point. Snarky at best.
I recently saw a play on those tacky motivational-inspiration posters. Sorry if you own one and I called it tacky. I’ll bet Justin Matthews owns one. He probably owns it as a joke though. Maybe yours is great and the rest are the silly ones. Anywho, you know the ones that say things like…Strength: “it takes the heart of a lion to lead a pride,” with a cropped up picture of some lions chilling in the dirt in Africa.
Something like that. I just made that one up as an example. Kinda a mental picture for ya though. Tacky right. I think so. Anyways I saw one on blogging and it produced a laugh.
The picture had some random good looking dude running in the mountains in the background.
It read as such… BLOGGING: never have so many people, written so much, to be read by so few.
Ha. Loved it.
People tweet about tying their shoes for pete sake. Everything is a status update. Going to the grocery store. Going to the bathroom. People blog about anything these days. What are we trying to get across. Are we just a bunch of narcissist with no purpose, writing to appease our ego?
So whats my point. I don’t want to blog for the sake of blogging, or to word vomit so I can mentally process. I want to blog to reveal greater aspects and character of who my God is. I want to tell a better story that will enrich the lives of those reading it.
I hope you continue to tune into the Lord’s story on my life.
