I get that question often. Pretty sure it’s mostly dirt. Maybe 78% or more is dirt. The rest is pure African sun.
World Racers are gross people.
For some hygiene is merely a suggested guideline.
Others consider frugality a fruit of the Spirit.
This is an example of a combination of the two.
Jonathan Beckman had a cut on his foot. Instead of being a sane person and using rubbing alcohol to clean the wound, he used Listerine. But first he swished the Listerine around his mouth so as to not be wasteful. He then proceeded to spit the Listerine out of his mouth and onto his wound, thus killing both the germs in his mouth and on his wound. The whole two birds with one stone thing.
