Here’s an average day of ministry at Remember Nhu.
Wake up.
Struggle out of my tent.
Then wake everyone else up.
Have morning prayer together.
Break into two groups for the guys: burn crew & pick crew.
Usually I’m on burn crew.
Two reasons: picks are heavy and fires are fun.
I burnt most the hair of my left arm after letting one of the fires get a little out of control. It’s growing back slowly.
Pick Crew has been digging a ditch along the side of the dirt road leading into the girl’s house. Each year the rainy season floods their road making it difficult for the girls to leave the grounds and head to school. Hopefully the piping we added in the ditch along the road will help with overflow from the rain.
Burn Crew burns pretty much everything they can. Mostly we have been working along the fence line using machetes, axe’s, knives, rakes, or whatever tool isn’t already broke to pull anything and everything off the fence line. Part of the reason for doing this is to keep the grounds looking decent so the girls can be proud of the place that they live.
In the Evening we eat dinner at the girl’s house, help with their homework, butcher trying to speak Thai, and play games with the girls.
At night the guys chill around a fire using it as an opportunity to tell our stories and have each other speak life into them.
That’s an average day with Remember Nhu.
I love it.

This Guy
