So its 11:32pm here in Africa, the crickets are out, our guard is on watch, and the common area has a few deep and meaningful conversations going on. Nothing new there though ๐ It is the World Race after all.
Just wanted to share a few pictures with you all from my first few days here in Africa!

got my hair braided by one of the mamas ๐

The living situation for a month, two guys to a mattress, and a squatty potty for all!
1) I love love love LOVE Africa and I havent even started our official ministry yet here in Tanzania. We are on Africa time so everything takes a little longer to start.
2) Today I got to go to our church with our Pastor, who we will be working with for the month. We practiced our worship set, which we will be doing at church this coming Sunday. As soon as we started to play Kids began to climb on the windows peaking in at us, and then applauding when we finished each song. It was a beautiful thing, then they decided to carry my guitar case all the way home. Its amazing how fast they are to help us I really do not understand it but they take joy in it. On the walk home I learnt how to say I love you in Swahili, as soon as I got back to the house, I told all our Mamas how much I loved and appreciated all that they do for us. It amazes me how much love people have to give here, and yes they told me they love me back with huge smiles on there faces ๐

sisters combing each others hair
3) It hit me hard when I was throwing a little boy up in the air today outside of church. He literally could not keep his pants up because the were far to big for him, and he had no belt, no undearwear, and no socks. He was just so happy to be thrown in the air by me and play football with his friends. They have so little but love so much! The kids here laugh, sing, wave at you as you walk by, Its so good they truly appreciate life.

more of our mamas their kids are so cute
4) I know I sound like the typical missionary right now going on about how much he loves Africa, but thats okay because its true. Minus the fact that I am not typical, the fact that I am going to be doing ministry in eleven countries, over eleven months is not typical, the fact that God is me and is active is not typical. I declare He will continue to do very untypical things in me and through me as long as I stay open and willing. Life is good, lifeon the field is very hard at times but so mind blowingly good!
5) I miss everyone back home I wish you could be here to see this with me, maybe one day we can hire a plane and all come. Anyways good night one and all huge day ahead tomorow we get to go to AFRICAN CHURCH!
PS Thank you for everyone who has given towards my world race!
Please prayerfully consider giving towards my final deadline,$2,800 is needed by the end of June
blessings, Nathan
