A big hello to everyone out there!!! I am safe and sound in Antigua, Guatemala. It is a beautiful country and a beautiful city so much has happened in such a tiny amount of time. I already feel like I have been a month and we are only on day 5! I have loved every single second of it. From the sleeping on airport floors, to the bumpy bus rides with some seriously awesome tunes, to the smiling child looking back at me with such love because someone took the time to say hello when most people dont, and to my two favourite people in the Grandpa home (eldery home) Lorenzo and Augustina you simply made my day and rosa you are the best 70 plus dancer I ever saw 🙂

As I sit here in the lobby of our youth hostel where we will be staying for the month, I reflect on the things we have seen in only five days. My heart is broken as I think about one particular story.

We are ministering and volunteering in a local hospital in Antigua, we were told by some incredible local missionary's from the states that one child in particular David. Was almost beaten to death with a stick by his mother. The local villagers thought this would be best because he was to much of a strain on her as he is a special needs child and can not talk, walk, or use most of his bodly functions.Thankfully she did not and managed to get him to the hospital where he lives and is cared for.

When I heard this I wanted to punch a wall and cry my eyes out at the same time, this beautiful full child I am looking at with a big smile on his face was almost beaten to death with a stick! Not because of hatred or anything along those lines. Simply because his mother could not see any way out.

I realized in that moment that this is why I am here on this world race, to show people Christs love to let them know that there is a way out. There are ministrys and people willing to help in each country we go to.That there is a LOVE in Christ worth living for.

God is doing massive things here already and its going to keep building and building. I go to sleep at night so excited about what tomorrow has in store. How God is going to show me his love in the people around me and through me.

In conclusion

I do not speak any Spanish! and no one speaks English! (go figure huh) its been frustrating at times to say the least because I came to this country to tell people about Jesus, to have conversations, to pray prayers that people understand. God is showing me that love is communicated with so much more than words but with actions. With just looking into someones eyes as they share there heart. To hold a child that has not been held in so long, to cook for the people on my squad, to wash the dishes, to be honest open and real even if it hurts,to lay aside my personal needs for the good of others, In Guatemala Christs love is coming strong! LETS GO

p.s. My personal goal is to be at $11,000 dollars raised by Febuary 11th we are currently at $8,000 this is totally achievable. $11,00 is my next deadline if I do not make this deadline inside the next three months or so i will not be able to continue on the race. I need to finish this race! Not for my own personal gain or goals but for the people in these 11 countries Christ Love needs to spread, homes need to made, children need to smile laugh and learn what true joy means. Please help me to help those that truly need it LOVE YOU ALL! Enjoy the video below got to love Antigua
