What does my donations actually go to?
All donations made through the blog link go to the essentials for the Race, such as: flights, housing, and food. During the race I will live on a budget of about 12$ a day, 5$ for housing, 5$ for food, and 2$ for travel. This will vary from country to country but is a general layout.
All donations made through gofundme first go to making sure the trip is paid for. After that they will cover student loan payments, gear, and other expenses while on the missions field.
Is my donation tax deductible?
Yes, all donations made through the blog link are tax deductible, however donations made through gofundme are not.
Are monthly payments or 1 time payments a better option?
Both work great, however after December 31st 2015 all donations made through the blog link will no longer go towards funding me, this is the last deadline to be fully funded for the race and any donations over being fully funded go into a general fund for the world race and not to me.
What does that mean for me?
If you are on monthly payments simply cancel them after December 31st 2015, you can still donate through gofundme to help with student loan payments and other expenses while I am on the missions field.
