The past week I have been working at a family camp facilitated by Dublin Christian Mission. Camp was set up somewhere in the countryside south of Dublin. The setting contained: a field of army tents, a large central tent for gatherings of all sorts, a metal building for recreational activities, a walkway through the forest, a playground, a campfire circle, bounce houses, trampolines, a football pitch (for Americans: a soccer field), ect.

This camp was unique in that it was geared towards growing families in Christ, rather than just individuals. We played together, laughed together, cried together.  Many seeds of love and faith were planted this week, and fruit has already started to bloom. Daily, we took part in “the art of dinner,” meaning we ate heartily and enjoyed each other’s presence. We had daily sessions where stories of Jesus were told. Daily we went on outings: to peaceful beaches, to fanciful parks, to fairs and amusements, forging relationships towards the love of Christ. It was a beautiful time.

………

How does Jesus feel about His bride? I attest that his affections are similar to that of Solomon’s, only more complete. After spending time seeking the Holy Spirit, I read this:

“You have captivated my heart, my sister, my bride;

you have captivated my heart with one glance of your eyes,

with one jewel of your necklace.

How beautiful is your love, my sister, my bride!

How much better is your love than wine,

and the fragrance of your oils than any spice!

Your lips drip nectar, my bride;

honey and milk are under your tongue;

the fragrance of your garments is like the fragrance of Lebanon.

A garden locked is my sister, my bride,

a spring locked, a fountain sealed.

Song of Solomon 4: 9-12

When we seek Christ, He makes his Love for us known to us.

……….

Jesus, Love explosion.

Jesus, roaring Ocean.

Jesus, Spirit blowing.

Jesus, come.
