I thought you guys might enjoy seeing some of the sights around Thailand. In this blog you will see pictures from temples to elephants.

My next series of blogs will be about the ministry and lessons in Thailand.

For now…enjoy the pictures!

Gotta a little muddy after riding the ATV around the Island we were debriefing at.

This is a little snapshot of the beautiful island named Kosemet which sits off the mainland of Thailand.

A pic. from our day of snorkeling. This was at a fish farm we stopped by at.

Thailand is 95% Budhist. These are a few of the many temples around Thailand.

This is the ‘Reclining Budha’. This statue was created to comemerate the position he was in before he entered “nirvana”. Which according to Budhist beliefs is a state of non-existence entered into after one has gained enough ‘merit’ (good deeds).

Sorry for the side ways pic. Just tilt your head!
This Kelton, Steve and I posing in the entrance of one of the many Budhist idol temples.

These are two young girls brought to the temple to worship and earn merit. It felt eerily similar to kids in America being brought to church when they are young.

Sorry again for the sideways pic! (and the next one) Didn’t have time to fix it.

These barrels are for people to put money in as they walk through the temple. There are over 100 hundred of them!

This adds to the ammount of good deeds they need to do to enter nirvana. The ammount of good deeds must outweigh the ammount of bad deeds.

These are bells people ring as they leave the temple. Once again, another thing to gain ‘merit’.

A sheet for Budhist people to write prayers and ask for blessings in their life.

The elephant we were about to ride.

Taking a stroll around the jungle on an elephant. You know just another typical day.

Self Explanatory. If you want to know more ask Robby.

Mom , Dad, Big and the fella’s. You will meet the family in the next blog. Get exited!

This is a cross in the cemetary that was built to commemerate fallen allied soilders in World War II. They died trying to help the many Prisoners of War that died trying to build a railway (death railway) for Japan.

All the tombstones had different entries of rememberance.

“The Bridge Over The River Kwai”. A famous movie made in the 1950’s telling the story of the over 100,000 P.O.W.’s that died trying to build a railway through Thailand to Burma for Japan.

Steve, Kelton, Robby, Eli and I posing at the Bridge.

Please take a moment to pray for the darkness of Budhism to lift from over Thailand and for people to come into the knowledge of Christ.
