Picture Update from Life in Mpeketoni, Kenya.
This is Team Current with 2 additions. Doris our African friend. And in the dark blue shirt a 18 year old named Brittany. She came on a trip called World Race Exposure and spent the month with us in Kenya. She was an awesome addition!
I got a chance to preach at an open air revival! I preached on Who Jesus Christ Is and what that means to our lives. This is a pic of the World Racers praying for the three men that came up for the altar call. Praise God!
Like I had mentioned in a previous blog. The man whom I have my arm around name is James. We were visiting the local hospital to pray for sick people and ended up helping lead this man to Christ. The other man’s name is Michael and he had been witnessing to James for 5+ years! Pretty awesome day.
On our days off we would take this giant truck around Kenya. This is the whole group with Team Powerhouse coming back from the beach.
On a lot our days we would do house visitations. This is a family Katie and I befriended. The woman on the far right is a Christian and the rest is a Muslim family. We were able to form a good friendship the Mama (Pictured with the yellow head scarf) and she showed us crazy generosity. Including fresh roasted Pecans with sugar baked on.
This is the fence of the school down the street from where we stayed. When we would walk by the kids would run up to the fence and yell, “Mizungu! How are you?” And then when you would walk over to say hi. They would go crazy!
The outside of Christ The King Pentecostal Church. This is where we lived and who we worked with for the month.
A little stick fight with Eugene, Victor and John. (Kids from the Church)
A glimpse of what Mpketoni looks like.
This is Sayeed. Two girls from our group found him alone and acting very strange. They brought him back to church and discovered from the Bishop that the boy’s father had gave him off to the Devil in a pact to get rich. Which is a false belief and common occurence in some Muslim circles. Not only did we see Sayeed free from demonic influence and change before our eyes but he was set up with a Pastor connection in the town where he had come from.
Wellington, Brom and Jonah from the Church.
This is our fearless translator, host and good friend Caleb. The month would not have
been possible without him!
Hope you enjoyed the Pics!!!
