My name is Nate Evans and I am
originally from East Moline,
Illinois. I am 27 years old and a graduate of Palm Beach Atlantic University
which is located in West Palm Beach,
Florida. It is a Christian
university and is located one mile from the beach. Tough college life huh? I graduated in May of 07 with a major in Sports Management and a minor in
Christian Leadership.

I began my relationship with Jesus when I was five years old. I would not understand
the ramifications of that decision until many years later. There were sporadic
times of growth, a few genuine times and a whole lot of church and bible
knowledge in my walk with Christ from ages 5 to 18 but I could mostly be
characterized by a dead faith that was not producing fruit. That all changed
when God got a hold of my life during my freshman year in college.

    Since then he has
caused me to fall deeper and deeper in love with him, consuming more of me
every day these past eight years. He has become my life, joy, purpose and true
love. My life motto could be summed up with this:

Know Your Loved. Live With Passion. Change The World.

In January 2008 I went on my first World Race journey. I got everything I wanted out of it and more.

There were 27 of us on that trip, organized into smaller
teams of 5-6. We experienced many things during the year. We ministered at a
refugee camp in Peru, spent time with orphans in Africa and built a church in
Thailand just to name a few. In all, I went to 12 different countries
throughout the year and experienced a broad range of cultures and ministries.

    It was
a beautiful thing because I went to change the world and the world changed me. I
was plunged into the depths of Christian community and saw both the beauty and
the risk of it. I learned about contentment, giving up my rights and that God
answers the crazy prayers we pray.

I learned that if I
don’t funnel my gifts through love and service – that I will waste my life!

To read a great summary HERE.

In 2009 I lived in Colorado Springs enjoying time with some former
Racers, an awesome house of guys, working as a server and getting
discipled.
 **************************************************************************************************************************************
In January 2010 I went back out on the World Race for a 2nd time.

Why?

In short because God told me. A longer explanation can be found in my Going Back Out series of blog.

I  have some singular words to help describe my 2010 World Race: He brought me intense HEALING by walking me back
into the same type of community
where I was wounded before. I had an attachment to TITLES and He stripped me
of that by taking them away and challenging me to serve where I was at.For 6 years I had been walking around with the lie that I
don’t Love and Serve people. He gave me a Revelation that brought massive FREEDOM to
my life.

All year He pounded me with the words EMBRACE. ENGAGE. ENJOY. Making sure I would get
everything out of the year I was desiring and not give into my lazy flesh.RESTORATION
from many of my wounds
from the past.I have walked deeper into HUMILITY. I am Less
Pressured. More Confident. I have less desire to Perform. I Love better. Serve
better
. Feel more at home in my own skin. In a word, I am more CENTERED.

All of it fits under this umbrella core
lesson:
God
is More Committed to The True Desires

Of
My Heart Then I Am. (Read Blog summary Here)

Next came 6 months at a G42 Christian Leadership Academy in Spain. (Click HERE for summary)

In short what I gained there was this:

I have new weapons to fight the enemy and bring Kingdom.I have a network of mentors and peers whose hearts beat
like mine that I will be proud to stay connected to.
I have a healthier mindset, stronger determination and a
deeper appreciation for life.
I have a vision and am ready to commit to it.

 The major transition has
been made in my life. It’s time for me to move away from self-introspection
and plunge much deeper into giving my life away for others.

Currently: I am teaching English in South Korea. I am with World Race alumni Kyle and Haley Crimi and W.R./G42 alumni Michael and Kate
Schuerman. Teaching for one year in Korea will allow to me erase my
debt from university and put me on firm financial footing for the future
while gaining valuable experience from living abroad. This will then
give me the freedom to do what I really want to do.

Future: Develop a 6 month long mission trip designed specifically for men. It will be an Initiation process focused on Healing of their hearts. Brotherhood. Drawing out of their Strengths. And an understanding of Fathering. I am flexible on the age and length – I just want to see missions be used as a vehicle to reach men!
