But let me make this clear before I write anything else……..
This is a “God Did” story
So on with the story……………….
Before you read this it would greatly enhance your experience if you read a blog I wrote called, “Death“. (It will give you the background for this story)
The Lord has been so good since that moment. That moment when I saw a mother, daughter, sister and friend die. I have been able to become very close to that family and we have formed a very tight bond. A week after, we went to the visitation and the other world racer’s and I were invited to sit in the front row with the family. Then the family invited us to share with everyone and we were able to share words of comfort and the gospel itself!
Not only that but my team raised the 50 dollars the family would need to provide food for that visitation because they had no way to provide for their guests. Add onto that the other visits I had that involved prayer and laughter and I thought things were going great.
That was until the day, the sister Daisy spoke up about the problems she has been having.
I quote her, “I feel angry at God. I have much trouble praying and reading the bible. Every time I close my eyes to pray I see a beast. He says to me, ‘God doesn’t love you – why would He let your sister die? God doesn’t love you – why would He let the earthquake happen? Come follow me. Come live for me.“
Are you now thinking what I was thinking, “What do you do when someone tells you something like that?”
I shared some scripture with her but I sensed it would take something more to help her. I just didn’t know what that “something more” was.
I said we would pray for her before we left. As we gathered around her I sensed that it was Robby that needed to pray. But after I asked him, he asked her more probing questions about the demon, shared a personal experience and then uttered some words to the extent of, “We are not leaving until that thing has stopped bothering you.”
I paused in my brain for a second when he said that but then a peace came over me and I thought to myself, “Lets do it.”
We proclaimed freedom in Jesus’ name and for light to overcome darkness. At some points I would pray directly against this beast at others points I would wholeheartedly agree with the prayers going on around me.
Friends I don’t lie. Her eyes were fluttering at a speed I have never seen before why we prayed for her.
We all began to sense that the mood was changing and we began to proclaim to her to. “Open your eyes Daisy!” Although the majority of the praying was in English, Dina (our translator) helped immensely with translating the phrases we really needed to get a across to her.
She opened her eyes! We asked her to close them again and tell us what she saw. She did and then proclaimed to us, “I only see light! The beast is gone! I only see light.”
We all began to praise the Lord! We thanked Him for what He had done and continued to pray over her. We all thanked the Lord in English and Spanish and agreed joyfully as we listened to Daisy sing praise to the Lord. We prophesied blessing over the family and proclaimed that it would be a family of holiness and righteousness.
All my heart and mouth could scream out was “Glory to God! Thank you Jesus!” Joy overflowed from my soul and all that could come from my mouth was praise. Jesus had freed this beautiful woman from oppression and lies.
Jesus casts out demons when He was on earth and He still does. Either they stopped existing or we stopped believing in them. Our God is alive and active today and He is fighting for our hearts and freedom! Its so refreshing and life giving to my soul to see what I read about in the bible come alive today.
I am finally starting to understand the power of “Christ in me” and the authority He has given me. Not my authority but His authority inside of me.
I hope this story was an encouragement to you. I don’t want to get into a charismatic verse conservative debate, I’m just telling you what happened. Our God is alive and active. He is beyond any doctrine we can come up with to describe Him.
Please pray that I can follow Him with a humble attitude about my knowledge of Him , an openess to what He can do and the courage to move foward when He asks. And I will pray the same for you.
We serve a great, loving, powerful God! Glory y Dios! Glory to God!
This is a worship service we had with the family.
