It’s Been Too Long!!!

Sorry for the long hiatus – it’s been a crazy last month.

Ukraine was a short but good month so I wanted to give it a little love via some pics.

After this blog, I will be moving onto the Final Series for 2010

Along with what I will be doing this next year.

In the meantime enjoy some Ukraine!!!!!!!

First, a tour of Kiev……..
Overlook of the City of Kiev. (Notice the Dankness 😉

This is the escalator out of the Kiev Metro System which goes as much 90-120 meters deep into the ground. We spent a lot of time on the Metro!

The Freedom Monument and Statue in Central Kiev marking their freedom from communism in 1991

The Freedom Arch and statue signifying the continuing good relationship between Russia and Ukraine.

Famous Kiev Eastern Orthodox Church.

The Motherland (Russia) Statue which is 3x as large as the Statue of Liberty.

The Love Bridge where people ‘lock’ their love. Comes from a famous love story from WWII.

Famous in Kiev are the Matruska Dolls. This was the funniest collection that I saw.

Now onto the people and ministry.

We were working with CCX (A Ministry of Intervarsity International) which uses English as an avenue to introduce students to Jesus Christ. Here I was visiting a University classroom sharing about my Missions Trip and helping them practice english.

After classes we would go hang out at a local restaurant.

Every Friday night CCX hosts a movie night where kids come out to watch an English Speaking Movie and then discussion afterwards. This night we watched, “Amazing Grace”

We would also have parties with the kids. This night they made us the National Ukranian SoupBorsch.

Some of the students we got to know and love!

We walked a ton in Kiev!

We worked with a great guy named Caleb all month. He is an American serving with CCX. Be praying for him!

We lived in an office! This was our ‘home’ for the 7 of us for the month.

Our one American meal out for the month at TGI Fridays. Gosh Americans eat a lot of freaking food……

Final Banquet Pic of Establish Schlag Dominance.

Well I hope you enjoyed my little summary of Kiev, Ukraine.

It was an awesome month. I got to talk a ton about Jesus in secular universities, share about my trip and enter into some awesome relationships.
