The Story
of Barack.

For those of you that didn’t read Smiles and Sickness.

I will catch you up to date.

I was doing door
to door visitations with my team in
a neighborhood in Tanzania.

While passing a house, I saw a young boy with a cleft palate.

Whenver I see something like that, I feel hope rising up in
my chest for HEALING

Which then battles
with the doubt that rises
up at the same time.

Later that day, I was able to visit that same house.

I was nervous to
ask to pray for Barack, considering the doubt for healing that

I was facing.

But I
stepped up to pray anyway

Trusting that God would reward my Willingness.

As I was praying for healing,
I heard God say,

“I WILL bring someone to help this
boy”

In the next two months that would be TESTED.

I went onto to do as much research as I could to find help
for Barack.

Starting with Smile Train which is a Non-Profit that does free Cleft Palate

Surgeries for people
around the world.

I wasn’t having much Luck.

Either numbers didn’t
work
or Doctors weren’t there
anymore.

I kept trying and clinging onto what I had heard God say though.

As I left Tanzania
I hadn’t had any success but handed the search off

to a lady in the Church we were working with named Hilda.

At the same time a very nice woman named Cristina Merete (Who I have never met) had read my blog

Smiles and Sickness and started helping me Stateside.

About 2 weeks
after I left Tanzania

I received some good
news
.

They had
found a doctor
(Connected
with Smile Train)
3 hours away from Barack
that was willing to try to meet Up and
see if he was capable of
having the surgery.

Another 3 weeks
and still no news.

I had now left
Africa
and moved on to Eastern
Europe
.

I kept praying and thanking God

That He said HE WOULD BRING SOMEONE.

Clinging the best I could to
what

I thought I heard over 2 months ago.

Then I received this Email from Hilda in Tanzania:

Hello Nate, We are very happy to
inform you that Barack had an operation on September 17th,2010 at
CCRBT in Dar es Salam,Tanzania. The operation was successful!!! He is yet to be
discharged from Hospital but he is doing very well. We expect that by
Tuesday next week he will be discharged.

He is now home and doing well!!!

God was faithful to His word.

He brought someone to help this
little boy.

My Faith has been Boosted BIG TIME.

And a little boy named Barack’s life
has been changed forever.

This is the first week after the surgery. That scar will continue to heal up!
