Lord, you are my rest.
You are my life, my laugh, my Love. You are my shelter, my comfort, my hope, my savior. My everything is in you because I was created by you. You are always with me, yet I am not always with you. Your presence is my joy. Why do I continue to run from it?
I dont want to run from your presence any longer. I want to practice the presence of God. Invade my heart. Finish the work you have started in me. I write this knowing fully the promise I have in my Lord Jesus Christ, perfecter of my faith. I praise you God for the work still to be done in my life.
My heart longs to be after yours. All I am and will be is wrapped up in your character. I want to accept the gifts you have for me from a humble heart because all I truly need is your presence. Please remove my pride as far as the east is from the west. Strip from me my identity in perishable things, the junk that clouds my vision for you.
I want to see you with the eyes of a child.
Believe in you with the faith of an apostle.
Love you with the obedience of Christ.
Then I can pour out all the blessings you have given me.
