MONTH 10 IS HERE AND WHAT A MONTH IT HAS BEEN!
This month we were charged with the duty of finding contacts in Zimbabwe for future World Race teams to partner with and we have definitely seen God work. I started out this month with every intention of enjoying Jesus and he has not stopped giving me reasons to praise him.
Our first week we spent in the beautiful country of Zambia. From our time in Livingstone we were able to properly plan our trip in to Zim. We found a hostel where we could camp for 5 dollars a night on the outskirts of Bulawayo, the second largest city in Zimbabwe. We had not idea what we were getting into and I know that I personally was excited, but a bit reserved when it came to what this month would look like.
We arrived at Burke’s Paradise to find bible verses posted all over the grounds. In God’s divine way we were staying with a Christian couple named Adam and Vicky Burke. They had returned to their home country of Zimbabwe because they felt God calling them to run their families hostel so that it could be a place where missionaries could base their operations from. We were just one of many missionaries who would be blessed by the Burke’s calling.
Bulawayo has an amazing Christian community that is united to serve the people of Zim. Everywhere we went we met more people who would selflessly tell us of more ministries that could use our help in the future. Through Adam and Vicky we met our adopted Zim family Jonathan and Shereen Thompson and their 4 kids Stephen, Jay, Victoria, and Courtney. They have been such an amazing blessing to us by hooking us up with ministries, inviting us for home cooked meals, taking us to see the sights, and just welcoming us into their family. They, along with the Burke’s and the rest of the Bulawayo church live the kingdom of God everyday.
