Have you ever come to the bottom of a bag of M & M’s and thought to yourself…
“I just had a full bag two minutes ago! Where did they all go?”
Well, this is my empty bag of M & M’s blog.
As May comes to a close, so does this amazing trip. I will be back in the U.S. in early June and it still sounds weird to think and write that.
I have been blessed beyond words with the community that God has given me, here on the race. But this community does not last forever. Not that I believe that I will never see anyone again or that we wont forever worship our Creator in heaven, but this season is coming to its end.
There is something so beautiful and bittersweet about transitions. This time with my race family is ending, but opportunities to return to my parents, sister, and relatives excite me. I am excited to see my church family as I return to encourage and learn from them. I desire to see friends, share with them my experiences and hear about their own. I trust in the blessings of this next season, just as I had for this previous season. What I realize is that their is another bag of M & M’s waiting for me!
As we draw closer to Christ, the adventure becomes more exciting. Don’t misunderstand, it doesn’t mean that there wont be struggles and pitfalls ahead. There will also be blessings and happiness, but my hope is in neither of these things. My hope is firmly rooted in my relationship with my savior. My desire to grow closer to God has deepened and widened this year and those times of trial only draw me closer to the Lord of my life.
“I have told you these things so that in me you may have peace. In this world you have trouble and suffering, but take courage-I have conquered the world.” -John 16:33
So I guess the conclusion of this post is very simple.
Jesus, you are good.
I move from one place to another, from one season to the next. My community changes and circumstances shift.
Jesus, you are good.
To anyone reading this, no matter where you are in life, what season you are passing to or from, reach out and hold on to a savior who created you in infinite and unconditional love. Lay down that pride that says you can do it on your own and put your trust in a God who has already done everything for you by dying and ressurecting from the grave. He did that so that you can know HIM and share in His glory!
Jesus, you are good.
