We were asked to write a blog about how we felt before leaving on this mission trip.  Here is what I’m expecting.  I’m expecting to see God move His mighty hand and work though dedicated deciples in incredible ways.  I am expecting life changing and challenging experiences.  Having been to Haiti twice, I have already seen abject poverty face to face, so I am expecting to see more.  But I know what comes with that.  Extatic children with smiles that could light up the dark.  Grateful parents who nearly weep as they try to express their gratitude.  Local preachers with stronger faith than anything I’ve seen here in the States.  Basically, I’m expecting to see some of the most beautiful things in God’s creation in the midst of the “worst” places in it.  Like the picture above, so much beauty in the midst of so much chaos.  That is truely seeing God.  That these people are placed in the most povertous places in the world, and they smile.  That, my friends, is a joy that surpasses all understanding!  That is what I can’t wait to see again on this trip.  The people of these different cultures learning about the love of our Savior.  Our Jesus.
