Ever have a dream that is so real you woke up and thought to yourself, “Dangit. Why did I have to wake up!!” And you wake up realizing that you’re not on a beach with 10 trillion dollars in the bank.
Or “Man I’m glad that was only a dream!!” while you soak in your sweat from being scared senseless that the random bank robber in a tank top, cut off and boots in the dead middle of winter somehow ended up in your car and now He’s screaming at you in Italian and pointing a plastic potato gun at your head!!
Or the dream we’ve all had where we are falling into nothingness and then BAM, the cold, hard tile violently wakes us up with a loud smack!!
PEACE AND JOY
The other morning, I had the best dream EVER!!
I was laying in bed and I remember I was just hanging with people. Couldn’t make out anyone in particular, just and in a crowd and we were loving on Jesus and “worshipping.”
We were also talking theology and I think I started to get upset a little.
And then all of a sudden, whoever was leading worship and playing guitar said, “Forget your theology and just look at Him in the eyes! LOOK AT HIM IN THE EYES!!”
And when I did, I felt an overwhelming sense of love, peace and joy that in the dream I began balling my eyes out. Because at first, I did not feel worthy enough to look Him straight in the face. I was crying so hard in actually woke me up, and when I woke up, I had an enormous amount of peace and joy!!
SNOW COVERED DUNG
Even though I felt unworthy in the dream, doesn’t mean I am and doesn’t mean I should create a doctrine around that(like I am an unworthy sinner)
Martin Luther said, “We are but snow covered dung.” Really ML?
I mean, what if I said that to my wife?
Jess, you’re snow covered dung sweetie pie!!
I can tell you now that wouldn’t work out well in my favor!
But somehow, that’s what I was taught. That my worthiness lied in my actions and not in the FACT of being a child of EVERLASTING FATHER!
I’m not denying the reality that we can often feel as though we are unworthy, but the cross is all about unveiling our worth since the foundation of the earth!!

Religion demands honor and service but LOVE, Daddy God honors and serves us!!
When I started to realize this is when things really started to change in my life!
The “Christian Life”, (whatever that even means) is NOT about serving others. Or even serving God!(GHASP)
It’s about enjoying Him and being dome rocked by His loving kindness and goodness.
We love why???
Because HE first LOVED us!!
Love serves with no expectation of a return! Otherwise it’s not really love.
