Definition: having green leaves throughout the entire year; enduring/enduringly fresh; continually shedding and replacing leaves; remaining fresh and vital
(You can probably already guess where I’m going with this!)
This word “evergreen” was spoken over me by one of my squad leaders so I thought I would share its meaning with all of you.!
In Colossians 2:6-7 it says, “As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, ROOTED and BUILT UP in Him and ESTABLISHED in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving.”
I feel this is the perfect verse to summarize the spiritual meaning of evergreen.
As an evergreen tree stays green through all seasons, we should stay rooted in Christ Jesus through all the seasons of our lives (winter, summer, spring, and fall). No matter how hard; no matter how easy!
And as an evergreen individually and continually sheds off old/lifeless leaves and produces new ones, we should continually be growing in Christ. We need to let Christ take off all the leaves that aren’t producing fruit and allow Him to put the new leaves on us that will produce much more fruit in us!
One last thing, remain fresh and alive in Christ, renewing your mind in Him daily!
Prayer Needs:
Many of us have been physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually tired. So pray for rest and restoration.
Pray for our team, that we will continue to love one another well, and that we will continue to learn the best way for us to communicate.
Love, Natasha
