You’re probably really confused/intrigued by this title right now, but I will soon explain!

So there is this “American” diner called Butter is Better across from where we are staying which is supposed to be a reputable place for getting some good American food.

They have burgers, pancakes, shakes, desserts of various kinds, etc…

I have gone there twice so far to get dessert, and it has been very interesting!

Round One: The first time I went there I was really trying to stay in budget, so I got the cheapest thing there was, an oatmeal raisin cookie. I was quite exited to try it!

I proceeded to put it in my mouth when my taste buds were shocked to discover that there was minimal to no sugar in it, which made it kind of taste like cardboard :/    I was highly disappointed yet willing to give this diner another shot.

Round Two: Once again I walk with my team into Butter is Better to give it another shot in the dessert realm. I gaze at all their desserts trying to decide if I want a large chocolate brownie or a chocolate mint bar! (Decisions, Decisions!)

So I go for the chocolate mint bar because I absolutely love chocolate and mint together! I’m so excited as they hand the beautiful dessert to me on a plate; I walk back to the table, sit down, and take a bite. Everyone is looking at me to see if I like it or not. I swallow the first bite and try my best to keep a composed face, but it was hard. I’m not going to lie, my first impression was bug spray!

At this point everyone else wants to try it to see what they think for themselves. Various ideas were thrown around: peppermint oil/extract, toothpaste, etc…

One girl even rubbed the mint paste on her teeth to see if it would turn white and foam up like toothpaste; it didn’t so we knew it wasn’t toothpaste!

I was quite sad with my experience, but then one of my teammates, Abby, gave me one of her peanut butter cookies! That made me so happy!!!

THANK YOU ABBY!!!

As I walk out of the diner with my team it hit me, peppermint leaves. The mint cream tasted exactly like a ground up peppermint leaf! I’m not saying peppermint leaves are nasty; I’m just saying it does not taste good at all in the form of cream between chocolate!

Oh, I almost forgot to mention the cat! (The diner has a cat inside that roams around wherever it pleases.)

The first time I went there one of my teammates ordered some ice cream, so one of the workers proceeded to open the freezer when the cat falls inside of the freezer!!!! 🙂  I was a little grossed out at first, but soon embraced the fact that there is nothing I can do about it, so I got over it!

The second time I go in I sit down with my mint bar and feel something tug on my hair, so I turn around and discover that the cat had jumped up on the backside of the booth and was attacking my hair with its claws!

Some times there are just no words! 🙂

Anyway, I have decided that I am willing to give Butter is Better another try, but maybe get actual food instead of a dessert this time.

When/if I do I will update you on what I think!

Thanks so much for reading!!!
