As you can see in my pictures I’ve taken over the past 6 1/2 months, I’ve been to some beautiful places. Today as I was sitting on the rocks watching the giant blue-green waves crash over them, God sent me this overwhelming feeling. He made me realize how much He loves me, and how much He loves everyone. You’re probably wondering how relaxing by the ocean helps me understand this…. let me explain.
I’ve been to six continents, 13 countries, and hundreds of cities. I’ve seen the beauty of God’s creation in snow capped mountains, millions of stars on a pitch black night, endless beaches, rolling waves, tropical forests, sunsets over miles of rice fields, and sunrises over the ocean. Of all of the beautiful places I’ve seen, the one thing that captivates me the most in this world is the people. Nothing compares to all of the amazing people I’ve encountered over the past 6 1/2 months. It blows me away to think of how He created each and every person so different and so perfect. After all, in Genesis 1:27 it says “So God created man in his own image." Their beauty is not only on the outside, it’s inside too… I’ve seen little children worshiping in Malaysia, I’ve had hugs from dozens of children in Cambodia, I’ve listened to preachers in India who love the Lord with their whole heart, and I’ve worked along side people who have given up everything they’ve had to build the kingdom.
So as I sat there and soaked in the beauty that was around me, I felt God telling me, “None of the beauties of this world even compare to the beauty I see in my children.” During worship earlier today, I remember some lyrics from a song that stood out to me: ‘You’ve captured my heart with just one glance.’ God loves us so much that all we have to do is glance at Him and His creation or whisper His name and we completely have his heart. There is no explaining His love for us… like it says in Psalm 103:11 “For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his love for those who fear Him.” I feel like I’m finally starting to see the world through God’s eyes. Just see for yourself:
