Last month I had the privilege of working with Zion’s Gate Ministries. The ministry focuses on taking young boys off the streets of Los Pinos, a poor and very dangerous community in Tegucigalpa. These boys come from a life of drugs, alcohol, and unhealthy home lives (to put it simply). The family builds relationships with the boys, introduces them to Christ, and gives them a good Christian community where they can learn how to become men of God.

My team’s ministry included teaching at two different schools, visiting and ministering at a hospital, sharing the Gospel/praying with people who live/work at the dump, and helping with the process of turning part of the property into a city park. The vision is to make a place where families can come to be together. The family at Zion’s Gate would have the chance to build relationships with these families and share the Gospel with them. They are also in the process of putting in flood lights and possibly a soccer field in which teenagers can come to play soccer…the vision is that this will help lessen the number of teenagers getting together at night to do drugs, drink alcohol, and get into trouble on the streets. I enjoyed building relationships with the kids and teens as well as sharing the Gospel and discipling them.

Please pray with me that The Lord would continue to bless this ministry. I know the Lord would be pleased for these boys to put their faith in Christ and begin living for Him.
