Last month was awesome…our teams built lasting relationships, saw young people come to Christ, and so much more. The Lord is so amazing to allow us to spread the Gospel and love people!! There is one story that I would like to share. I pray it is an encouragement to you as much as it was to me. Enjoy 🙂
One Sunday morning, we did small groups with the teens at Aninuan Christian Church. There were around 35-45 teens that morning. The girls in my group were Gerlie, Dianne, SherryLynn, and 3 others. I shared what God had been teaching me and then opened it up for them to share. We discussed what the love of Christ looks like and how it changes our lives. After a few minutes, I told Gerlie and Dianne that I can see Christ in then when I am around them. Just the way they treat each other and their smiles is evidence of Christ in their lives. As I shared this with the girls, Dianne began to cry. She was trying to hide it and was ebmbarassed . At the end of our time, we shared prayer requests and prayed. As we stood up to leave, Dianne pulled me aside and asked if I would talk with her. So as we made our way down to the main church service she began to share her heart. We stopped to sit down and chat together. She began crying again as she told me that it was so difficult for her being a Christian because she is the only one in her family. Her father drinks a lot, and comes to church, but doesn't worship God. Her mother is always angry at her. She also has 6 younger siblings. As I sat there crying with her, I was so blown away.
Here is a 15 year old girl who has such great faith in God.
She is so burdened for her family's salvation.
She is truly living out Colossians 3:2, "Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on the earth."
