Thirteen years ago, I was brought out of eternal darkness and into the glorious light of JESUS CHRIST. Since then, GOD has taught me, guided me, and has never left my side. In 2007, God planted in my heart a desire for overseas missions. After college, I taught third grade at a Christian school for 3 years. One year ago, GOD sent me on a mission. GOD allowed me to travel to 10 countries helping churches and ministries, loving people, providing for physical needs…but most importantly, GOD allowed me to share the Gospel. During that time, GOD confirmed my desire for overseas missions.
But even bigger than that, He gave me a greater desire for sharing the Gospel everywhere.
But I have a confession to make. Since being home, I have allowed the world’s view of life to influence me. Instead of doing His work all the time, I started putting more effort into the things of this world, rather than the things that matter in eternity.
Tonight, as I sat at a Christian concert, a man presented the Gospel. As I prayed for the Holy Spirit to work on hearts, GOD brought a special girl to mind. As I thought about her, I was reminded of what GOD allowed me to do.
In April of 2013, GOD brought my team to Yalta, Ukraine. Then, HE allowed us to meet a group of teenagers through an English class. Numerous times, HE spoke through me and gave me the boldness to share the Gospel. GOD chose to use my team to be a testimony. Now, GOD has worked on this girl’s heart and has been drawing her to Himself.
I have been praying for this girl since April 2013, and GOD is allowing me to see fruit. I am beyond thankful!!
So tonight, I say all of this as a reminder for myself.
I will not forget.
I will not forget what Christ did.
I will not forget my mission.
I will not forget her.
I am committed to sharing the Gospel. Not because of anything inside me, but because Christ has saved me. So whether I am on a missions trip, at work, running errands, shopping, at a Bible study, or spending time with friends and family, I will do my best to do the work GOD has called me to.
I will not forget.
