It’s true.  I don’t.  Because we ARE the church.  Christ-followers are representatives of He Who Reigns, of Endless Grace, of Ceaseless Love.  We are a unique collection of diversity overcome by The Divine who then walks this earth bearing His name.  “He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together.  And He is the head of the body, the church…” Colossians 1: 17-18.  We have been given the opportunity to spread His Truth to the ends of the earth.  And really, it’s not just an opportunity; it’s our call to carry His name across the globe.

It is amazing and beautiful how the Lord uses His creativity to assemble individuals who are so different and yet are unified by one purpose.  I believe this is something we have to keep striving for; to allow our individual talents and gifts to collectively bring glory to our Daddy and pour forth His love.  Sometimes I think we let our differences divide us when we should be celebrating the canvas known as Human.  We are one who belongs to The One.  “The body is a unit, though it is made up of many parts; and though all parts are many, they form one body.  So it is with Christ.  For we were all baptized by one Spirit into one body-whether Jews or Greeks, slave or free-and we were all given the one Spirit to drink.  Now the body is not made up of one part but of many.”  1 Corinthians 12: 12-14.  Imagine how His heart leaps when His warriors of Love come together to bring His Kingdom.

The walls we enter every week give us a chance to worship the Lord together, but what happens in these buildings is really just an extension of what we hopefully do every day; bring glory to the King.  Carrying His Love to the streets is what the Church is for.  Caring for the widow, the orphan, the oppressed is what the Church is for.  Battling injustice and fighting for freedom is what the Church is for.  And we do this together.  We change the world for Him together.  🙂
