What would the world look like if we lived a selfless faith?

If we lived a life that was devoted entirely to His Kingdom and His calling?
If we lived a life that honored our God?
If we lived for God because of WHO He is, opposed to what He does for us?

What if we focused our faith on Him, instead of on ourselves?

To live a selfless faith.
To have a faith that isn't co-dependent on the blessings we receive in return.
To have a faith that isn't determined by whether or not we go to hell.
To have a faith merely because He is the "I Am."

What would the world look like then?
What would our lives look like then?

So often, we find ourselves surrounded with decisions to make and to-do lists to check off.
If we don't make the right decision, if we don't finish the list, then we are faced with the consequences.
We complete the task, and make the best decision, to avoid the consequence and to receive the benefit of accomplishing what we set out to do.

What about in our faith?

So often, we fall into the carnal way of thinking.
We obey, we pray, and we worship.
For what?

To receive blessing?
What are we focusing on when we worship?
When we pray?

He is the "I Am."

Would you still have faith in Him if it meant being beaten?
Abused?
Tortured?

If it meant that your life would be miserable, carnally speaking?
If you were constantly hungry, never satisfied, and without a place to lay your head?
If it meant an eternity of harassment and condemnation from the world?

Would you still be eager to sing His praises?
To declare His name?

Or would it make you take a step back, perhaps have a little hesitation before making the commitment to follow Him and to call yourself a Christian?

My travels around the world have put me face to face with Christians who face all of the above; daily.
I have held hands and prayed with the most desperate of people.
I have held the hands of starving children, of dying mothers.
And at the end of the day, they praise Him for WHO He is, all the while trusting in His sovereignty.
They live a selfless faith.
Their lives are truly not their own.

Would you live a selfless faith?

Would you lay down your own will, in order to do His?
Would you live a faith that honors WHO He is?

Would you devote your life to living for Him?
To LOVING Him because of WHO He is?

To being happy whether in tribulation or in freedom?
To being happy whether in wealth or poverty?

To knowing WHO your God is?

To live a selfless faith.
To live a faith that lets His will be done.
To live a faith that brings His Kingdom here.

To live a faith that honors our God.
Despite the consequence.

Would you choose to Love Him for WHO He is, not for WHAT He does.

One day, this world will perish and you'll only have Him.
How can you have faith in Someone that you don't know?

What would the world look like if we lived a selfless faith?

Probably a lot more like the Kingdom.
