Imagine this:

You have three young boys.
You need to feed them, clothe them, teach them, take care of them.
But you've been abandoned and can't find work.

Or at least can't find work that will pay you enough to support three growing boys.

You want to give them a good life.
You want them to have opportunities at a good future.

You've been on job interviews.
You've reached out to those around you.

You wake up in the middle of the night to the cries
escaping from your toddler's mouth as he doesn't
understand
the hunger pains that gnaw away at his stomach
.

You feel like you've reached the bottom of your rope; like you're at the bottom of the pit.

What can you possibly do to make it better?
How can you give them a better life?

Then, an idea hits you.

You are scared to even think about it too much because it seems too horrific.
And yet, it might be the only way.

You could sell your children.
There are white men out there that would pay good money for them.
Plus, they'd get a chance at a good life.
Maybe they would take them to America.
Maybe they would get a proper education, and REAL opportunity.

But . . .

How can you walk away from your children?
Would you be able to do it?
Would you be able to leave their future in the hands of strangers?
How can you leave them with strange men?

You wake up anxious and smothered in the guilt that the idea gives you.

So you look for another idea.
A 'quick fix.'

You look for something that would give you both opportunity and food for dinner.

Then, it hits you.
This one more horrible than the last.
But an idea that let's you keep your children,
and give them a good life.

The Red Light District.

You could go to the bars.
You could sell yourself.

There's so much money there.
Your family would gain so much.
And you would lose your soul.

What would you do?

We're spending our last week here babysitting three young boys
whose mother walked through a similar scenario.

Somehow, she found Emmi and WonGen Kafe.

It's all still in limbo.
Decisions still need to be made.

But, at the moment, our ministry is loving on three young boys and their mother is working.

I couldn't think of a better way to spend my last week in Thailand.
