Do you know what freedom is?
Like REALLY know what freedom is?
As an American, I throw around the word like it's nothing.
Like yea, we're free.
We have choices.
We can make our decisions.
We have freedom.
Because in America, we do.
But do we really KNOW what it means?
Do we know what freedom in CHRIST really means?
In order to know freedom, we must have known bondage.
We must be able to recognize what it feels like to be restrained.
We have to RECOGNIZE that we are being held in bondage.
That we are allowing ourselves to be restricted in different areas of our lives
because of the things we refuse to let go of.
Maybe it's un-forgiveness?
Maybe it's bitterness?
Maybe it's disappointment?
Whatever it is, we must first realize it's there.
In church we always sing about Freedom in Christ.
But I fear that a lot of people either don't really know what that means,
or they take it for granted because they have never known different.
This past week, God has showed me some things that I have allowed to hold me hostage.
He's opened my eyes to the bondage I have allowed myself to walk in.
And He's birthed in me
a new sense of FREEDOM.
I really am FREE in my Father.
Are you free?
