Matthew 4:18-20 "As Jesus was walking beside the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon called Peter and his brother Andrew. They were casting a new into the lake, for they were fishermen. 'Come, follow me,' Jesus said, 'and I will make you fishers of men.' At once they left their nets and followed him."
My heart's desire is to run full force to God, doing whatever it is he calls me to do, faithfully and with reckless abandon.

I began this year thinking I was going to Graduate School after I graduated in May. To be honest, that thought did not thrill me. Tired of school and hoping for an adventure I began earnestly seeking God about where he wanted me after graduation. In January I became genuinely concerned with the fact that I didn't know where God was leading me. I was talking with my friend/mentor, Jill Neffke, about my desire to do missions for at least a year after graduation but that I didn't know through what organization.
My friend reminded me of the World Race. I went home and promptly researched it. Looking at the website I decided that I wanted to apply and give it a chance. Excitement began to grow as I found out more about the World Race. Finally, I determined that I would apply both for my Masters in Human Services and for the World Race. I figured God would close the door on one or the other. Two agonizing weeks later I found out that I had been accepted into both programs. I was shocked that God was giving me a choice. Surprise surprise! It wasn't at all hard for me to decide that I wanted to go around the world.

The verse at the beginning of this post is one that God has been laying on my heart frequently in the past year. God has been asking me if I am willing to drop everything and follow him. The peace that God has placed on my life about the World Race has been unbelievable; I am thrilled that God has opened this door for me! I am very excited to grow in my walk with the Lord and to see him work in the hearts and lives of myself and those around me.
