I figured I did such a bad job with updating my blog in Cambodia that I would give you all a photo update.

We visited the Killing Fields. Cambodia experienced a horrific genocide at the hands of Pol Pot. This country is still undergoing major reconstruction.

I received a recommendation to go to Daughters of Cambodia, an organization to help women trapped in human trafficking. They have a gift shop, a spa, and a restaurant. It is beautiful! Cambodia has one of the highest rates in human trafficking so it was wonderful to find several businesses dedicated to helping these women escape and make their way in the world.

The dust and smog were terrible in Phnom Penh so our contact gave us facemasks to wear whenever we took a tuktuk or scooter around town. We looked pretty intense.

The Janes were in charge of finding contacts in Cambodia for future racers. Team Sweet Aroma told us they had a pastor that they wanted us to meet and hopefully he would be a future contact. So Amanda and I traveled 4hrs by bus to Kampong Cham to spend a couple days with Sweet Aroma and meet the pastor. It was so much fun to hang out with them and see what their ministry involved! We finally met Pastor Vott and were able to talk to him. He was very excited and hoped to have future teams come visit him. This picture was taken after pushing our tuktuk across the bamboo bridge you see in the top right corner. We were on our way to the bus stop to head back to Phnom Penh. Nothing like a broken down tuktuk and a good little trek to the bus stop! Tess is on the right, she is one of our wonderful squad leaders. It was a fabulous weekend.

I also met this little cutie!!! I enjoyed holding her, singing to her, bathing and feeding her. She was a little goober!

When we got back from the village Hayden, Amanda, and Allyson decided to rent scooters for a few days. We spent a lot of time on those things! It was so much fun! We got to explore the city and zip in and out of that crazy traffick.

Katy and I tried out a fried tarantula at one of the rest stops on the way to Siem Reap. It wasn't too bad until I got to the abdomen, that part was real chewy and I almost gagged. Most of it was in my head though because the taste wasn't bad.

Once we got to debrief in Siem Reap we went to visit Angkor Wat as a team! It was amazing. This is actually a picture of almost the whole squad at Angkor Tom, we had just finished filming a squad video. It is still in the process of being editted. We had a blast even though it was incredibly hot.

Katy and I visiting the temple where Tomb Raider was filmed. These trees were everywhere and absolutely intense! I loved them!

This was an awesome month of experiencing many different things. I had an amazing time in Cambodia! Hope you enjoy! Another blog about Kenya coming up.
