January 2010 Wellington, New Zealand

Eight strangers pile out of the Lifeswitch van.  The house we have arrived at has a light blue tint to it, it’s yard littered with trash and toys.  Brenden our contact for this month has asked the family that lives here if we can clean their house. They have agreed to let us wash the house, car, and pick up and mow the yard.  With first month enthusiasm we pile out of the car and get to work.

Ministry in Wellington was not always easy and most of the time we had to roll up the sleeves and get our hands dirty. However it was days like this day that made it so enjoyable.  We cleaned and cleaned it took all eight of us working non-stop five hours to clean the outside of this home.

At first the family was standoffish and didn’t speak to us but by the end the kids where playing in the yard with us and the family had invited us in for some tea. As we sat with them we laughed at their quirks and how they said “fish and chips” apparently a big difference between New Zealand and Australia. They chuckled at how we pronounced house and thought it was crazy we didn’t have hot tea every five minutes.

It was a moment of how God used us to show this family love and kindness.  They had eight children and their father worked in manufacturing; so money spent on family night out was limited. Our team at the end of the month had a movie night for the people that we met and who showed up; no other then that family.  They where so appreciative but it was our hearts that where touched.

Who knew starting that month that God would use us to touch the hearts of a family by cleaning their yard and them touch us over a cup of tea. God is Good!

Please consider supporting me I have 1,000 dollars left to raise by the end of August, so that God can continue to grow me and change my heart for the those in this world.  Five, Ten, Fifteen dollars can help me get one step closer. Thank you to all who have supported me and have prayed for me. I must thank you for getting me to this point.

Much Love,

Natasha
