• poetic/literary a person or duty for which one has responsibility : rulership is a trust from God.
Don’t you love it when you have this grand idea in your head and then God steps in and changes those plans. Okay your probably don’t love it all that much, at least I don’t, not initially. However one thing I continue to learn on this journey is that trust in the Lord is something that you’re always going to have to be diligent about working on.
God has created us to have dreams and ideas and so he knew that we would always try to calculate and make plans for our lives that didn’t always involve him. He knew that I, Natasha Layne Blount, would dream and wonder and then put my type A personality to full affect by planning my life, without any guidance from him, because God is to busy caring about other things in this crazy world.
Oh how this year is changing my heart for trusting in the Lord. How foolish am I to think that God can’t handle something. He created the universe. Every star, depths of the ocean, the tallest mountains all that was spoken into existence and yet God couldn’t possibly handle a disagreement between a friend or my support raising, my lost luggage or my broken heart. I have to laugh at myself sometimes.
I laugh because when I think of all the times I have seen God work and move this year, not because he is different in Africa or Asia, but because I have moved out of the way and started recalculating and trusting that God will take care of it. Every month I see these beautiful places and people and I know that I have to make a choice to TRUST in the Lord. Trust that he is going to provide; that when I pray he is going to answer. That doesn’t always mean in the way I think he should but he is going to answer.
There has to be less of me in my life and the decisions I make and more of him. Oswald Chambers puts it so well in his My Upmost for his Highest.
You cannot lay up for a rainy day if you are trusting Jesus Christ. Jesus said- “Let not your heart be troubled.” God will not keep your heart from being troubled. It is a command- “Let not…” Haul yourself up a hundred and one times a day in order to do it, until you get into the habit of putting God first and calculating with Him in view.
