God has the best timing. We just arrived in Romania  after three days of travel, and we were supposed to hit the ground running. However, our ride fell through and we weren’t able to go out for ministry our first day and so we had the day off. We ate breakfast and prayed. I learned some songs on the guitar, while Charity sang along. Then a few of us decided to go out into the village and see some of God’s creation.

On our way to find a lookout point we ran into a lady name Ida, she is 72 years of age. Her husband passed away eleven years ago and she now lives in house 58 in this tiny little village hidden amongst rolling hills. She talked and talked none of it I could understand, because it was in Hungarian, but it didn’t stop the laughter and the smiles. She allowed us to pick about three or four pounds of plums from her garden. A beautiful green pasture, littered with plum and apple trees, tucked back out of sight from the road.

It was so peaceful in that place and what a blessing. Starting our walk, who knew we would make a friend along the way. She was such a blessing to us allowing us to pick freely from her garden and her joy was contagious. We prayed for her and then headed upward towards the top of the hill.

A short fifteen minute walk, up a steep hillside, gave us more than we expected. Clouds were moving over head, pushed by a brisk wind, creating shadows across the land. You could see neighboring villages and hillsides with corn and others with hay. It was truly amazing to stand on the top of that hill and just take in God’s creation.

Christopher, our contacts son, is eleven and as we stood on top of that hill he shouted out to the hillside Psalms 24 “The earth is the Lord’s and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it;…He who has clean hands and a pure heart…” I love this Psalm in general but to hear it being shouted from the hillside under a cross was touching. He didn’t whisper it, he shouted it out. He was declaring over the people of the village and of the land, that revival would happen, people would come to know Jesus. Oh how awesome that was to see.
