Hi family & friends!

This is the first time back using this platform as a way to share about what the Lord has been doing here in Medellín, Colombia. So here we go!

We are currently working with a ministry called Ciudad Refugio. This organization is absolutely amazing and our squad is getting a little taste of everything while serving here. We work with the youth in town, prayer-walk around the city, visit a nursing home, work in the kitchen with the women who are currently in a rehab program and anything else that comes up during the week.

The Lord has been speaking to me a lot while we have been engaged with the different ministry opportunities. I will share one of those moments with you here: one night two Wednesdays ago we went out to a street here in Medellín after church service. The street is known to be a place where many people go to buy drugs and do drugs. Words would not be able to describe what I saw and experienced that night as we walked among the people on that street, however what was most evident is that the Lord is at work. Though there was a lot of darkness, it could not overcome the Light of World. As we were leaving that night, I saw a man who was ”attempting” to sweep up part of the street. Below is a poem about what the Lord was speaking that night. I believe that it was not just for that man in particular but for all of us. The poem represents God’s heart for us as our Healer and Savior.

The Son with the Broom

I see what you are trying to do, but it is of no use.

Please my son, put down the broom.

This street needs an expert, someone who knows the best method for cleaning.

Please my son, put down the broom.

The darkness you feel can be transformed to light in an instant.

Please my son, put down the broom.

There is only one capable for this job and He is closer than you think.

Please my son, put down the broom.

Aren’t you tired my son? Tired of attempting to do what only I can do. I am the masterful Cleaner & Healer. I am asking you to trust me. To trust that I care so deeply for you and for you to walk in the newness of life that I will not stop until every part of this street and every part your heart are completely redeemed. This is who I am and this is what I do.

I love you, my son, put down the broom.

Thanks for reading and for coming along this journey with me!

Con mucho amor (With a lot of love),

Nat
