Ok so before you freak out because of the title of this blog let me explain.
Some of you may remember that last month my ministry was Unsung Heroes; and so we were asking the Holy Spirit to show us what He is already doing in Cambodia. The Lord led us incredible people and ministries in Cambodia. They ranged from churches to ministries that fight for people with physical and intellectual disabilities. My initial mindset going into these meetings was that for however long we met for I was going to love on and encourage these people. I was going to listen to what the Lord was asking of them and just encourage them as much as I can. It was going to be me doing all of the encouraging because that’s what I thought was supposed to happen. Let me tell you something…After most of the meetings, I felt way more encouraged and lifted up, then before I went into those meetings. Yes I was still able to encourage those people, but in no comparison to how the Lord was using these people to encourage my team and I.
By the end of the month, I was overwhelmed. It was in this moment that the Lord gently reminded me that He does not NEED me. He does not NEED me to go on the World Race. He does not NEED the World Race. He WANTS me and He WANTS the World Race, but He does not NEED us.
If the Lord desired, He could bring everyone on this planet to his or her knees in adoration of who He is all on His own. He has the power and authority to do this. However, this is not what our Father chooses to do. The graciousness of the Father is displayed in the simple truth that He desires for us to be a part of His story of redeeming ALL people and ALL nations. He allows us to play a role in His beautiful love story because He adores us and wants to give us purpose.
Let that sink in…The Creator of the universes chooses to use broken people to reach broken people because He loves me and you! He WANTS us that much! I am a broken mess of a person; and yet He has called me to go out into the nations to tell people about how good He is and how much He wants them too. The Creator of the universe uses an imperfect organization like Adventures in Missions to bring glory to His name because He craves for people to feel purpose and pursue Him in a radical way.
He chooses to use Adventures in Missions and I even though He knows we don’t bring anything to the table other than our love for Him. There is nothing special about Adventures in Missions. There is nothing special about me. It has everything to do with how wonderful and majestic and awesome and big our Heavenly Father is.
So even though He does not NEED anyone, He desperately WANTS everyone!
Also, right now my entire squad is in Thailand helping out the same ministry called Lighthouse in Action. Some teams are working in the coffee shop, some are going out to the slums/talking to monks in the area, and some teams are going into the bars in the area. My team has been called to serve in the bars this month. So if you could please pray for protection as we go out to these bars, as well as, for the Spirit to guide us to the men and women that He specifically wants us to meet.
