Dear Friends and Family,

Hello!! I have lots of things I want to share with you all about my time so far in Cambodia!

On the first day, I knew that I was going to love the village. The people here are SO kind and welcoming and I’ve loved getting to know our hosts and all of the kids at the orphanage. The landscape is so green and lush and walking to different places in the village is always so breathtaking and beautiful. Each day, some of my teammates and I will get a coconut to drink from and it’s so refreshing in the hot weather! Speaking of weather, it’s also been raining a lot here. It rains multiple times per day but I love it because it’s usually cooler!

The ministry here is so fun and fruitful! We have been teaching the kids English everyday, and I’m on the team that teaches the older kids. It’s been fun to create lesson plans with my teammates and come up with creative ways to teach them. A few nights ago, we played “Whisper Down the Lane” which is a game where one person is told a sentence and they then have to whisper it to the person next to them in the circle. Each person whispers until it gets to the last person and then the last person announces what they thought they heard. This helped them work on practicing sentence structure and listening carefully. We all had a lot of fun and they were so happy when they got the phrase correctly!

On Saturday we went to the capitol, Phnom Penh, and spent the whole day there! We went to the Killing Fields in Choeung Ek and did a tour there. It was really heavy to hear about all of these horrific events that occurred not too long ago. We then went to the Russian Market and the mall and we were so excited to shop and look at all of the things they had to offer!

Sunday was the first church service we attended at the orphanage. The presence of the Holy Spirit was overwhelming and seeing kids of all ages worship God together was so beautiful. Even though we all speak different languages, we are still praising our God together, which is truly so special.

I’ve really been trying to soak up a lot of knowledge from the Lord. I’ve really been trying to let go and trust what He’s doing. Each day is getting better and I can’t wait to see what He does here in Kampong Cham!

It’s been tricky getting the pictures to load on my blog, so if you want to see some check my facebook!!

Blessings,

Natalie
