Our ministry hosts and other long term missionaries we partner with are exactly who make what we do possible. Without them, we would have no foundation in the communities and reaching out to the locals would be much more difficult. These people create relationships and build trust among the locals. From discussing effective strategies of sharing Christ in their local communities, my ministry hosts and other long term missionaries have taught me how to live a life led by faith. Long term missionaries exemplify living a life led by faith. These people are interruptible, in tune with the Lord’s voice, and most importantly they don’t let hard times and struggles hinder them. By being interruptible, they allow faith to guide their days and are able to engage in kingdom spreading activities even when they weren’t part of their own plan. This goes hand in hand with being in tune with the Lord’s voice because it takes true discernment to be able to know what it is that God is calling them to step into in that moment. Both of these also involve insane amounts of trust. My ministry hosts and other long term missionaries amaze me the most by their ability to work diligently no matter the trials and circumstances. I have learned from them that a missionary’s life is not all that glamorous, in fact, it is often messy, overwhelming, and demanding. However, this never seems to change the smiles on the faces of my ministry hosts and other long term missionaries we partner with or the love that they constantly pour out on us and all of the people that we serve. Ultimately, I have learned that the most effective way for these people to share Christ with the locals is to simply give their lives to the Lord and love people with all that they have.
