I was told that I would not have internet this month. Well,
being that Malaysia is the most advanced Asian country, they even happened to
have internet in the jungle. For lunch, we cook and sit on the ground of a
bamboo hut and use cooking appliances from the pioneer days, and yet there is
wifi and the cut little restaurant down the street from our farm…yes that’s
right our farm.

This month we are organic farmers! Is it exhausting?…you
bet your bottom dollar it is. It’s located on the top of a hill so there is a
lot of hiking around involved. Shout out to Mission of Hope in Haiti, the PA
crew and Kayla’s old team who were at our same ministry site…it’s very
similar to Haiti…hot as heck and climbing hills 24/7, so you can kind of
imagine this place.

I drive a tractor, carry bamboo, watch monkey’s climb
through the forest, run away from/kill/pull off leeches on rainy days, get
eaten alive by mosquitoes, have rats fall two inches from face from a top shelf
while shopping `for rain boats for the swamps, hiding my feet from those
previously mentioned leeches and to protect our feet from poisonous snakes-like
the one we had to slow the van down to let it cross the road; push the rickety
van up the treacherous hills because we burned the clutch out- did I mention we
haven’t even been here a week yet? Ha. We are safe though Mom, mind at ease 🙂

I love my life right now. It’s crazy, it’s fun, and it’s
full of countless adventures every day. We get to eat incredibly healthy off
the produce from the farm and are walking miles each day during and after work.
Do I want to do this for the rest of my life, not so much, but for this month I
am enjoying myself.
