Since the last blog God has been doing some awesome work. As
I mentioned before, there were eleven women from Canada here for a week. I
helped somewhat, but they were the masterminds behind a Woman’s conference for
the local women. They put together testimony, presentations on scripture, and
even gift bags full of things the women may need. They anticipated only about
25 women to show, but surprise surprise, around 76 showed!!

Also, we didn’t expect children to show but Dorothy and two
of the Canadian’s threw together a last minute children’s program, which was a
great success as well!

Craig, Tommy and I (and Melissa once) went out and played
soccer with some non-Christians as an outreach…I am OUT OF SHAPE. Sadly I
forgot to take pictures :/ But that’s okay, I will remember it with the aches I
still seem to have in my legs. Ha

Another day Craig, Tommy, Melissa and I were able to help
out on a property where they are hoping to build a church. The boys shoveled
rocks and pulled weeds, and Melissa and I filled three bags of trash.

Later the same day Melissa and I were asked to wash one of
the missionary’s cars… 🙂 we’re here to serve in whatever way they need! Ha

The fun part, to get water to wash the car we had to get it
from a well. It was quite the process…I pulled the bucket with the hole on the
bottom while Melissa and I attempted to fill our bucket without getting water
all over the place…it was a pretty funny/fun process.

Another thing we were able to do was walk around different
towns/villages and pass out tracks/bibles/reading material on Christianity.

Unfortunately I do not speak Romanian and neither do my
teammates, but fortunately we got to practice our acting skills as our roles for the most part included smiling, waving, and hand
gestures to communicate with the people. Being able to watch the other
missionaries communicate with the different people we ran into was so amazing.
Two of the ladies we ran into nearly broke my heart. Nicoletta, one of the
missionaries, talked to them about their lives. One of them told us that her
husband and both of her daughters had died, she was nearly in tears. I had her
translate that I would like to pray for them, and asked if I could take a
picture of them to remember them. They asked us to never forget them, and I don’t
think I ever will.

Further down on the walk we ran into a large group of women
who had a LOT of questions about the bible. Nicoletta handled them like a
champ, and was able to break through a lot of skepticism they had. While she
spoke with them I played soccer with a few boys and ended up running into a
girl who spoke some English. It was great talking to her and doing hand motions
to understand each other better.

And most recently we caulked, sanded, and painted part of
the house that we have been staying at.

Still putting forth the prayer requests for Shannon’s
health, and Alicia’s support account  http://aliciahodges.theworldrace.org(She needs $2,000 more before the 30th…tomorrow!!)
Prayers prayers prayers prayers! 🙂
