Africa

The continent that I had always wanted to visited but never
thought I would make it to. Since a young age I had thought it would be amazing
to see the wild life that Africa has to offer; to be able to experience the
culture so different from my own. Not in my wildest dreams did I ever think I
would actually make it here. I cannot express how grateful I am for this
experience.

The squatty potties, schedules that never seem to be exact,
loud singing, passionate dancing in worship, roosters walking past you like
it’s no big deal, ducklings constantly crawling below your hammock, blue
colored iguanas scurrying up trees, wearing skirts 24-7 (expect when not in
ministry), mothers breastfeeding out in the open with no shame, seeing women
squat in the middle of any public place to pee, preaching on any and every
topic…including us young singles giving advice on marriage, being called an “azungu”
(white person), a coat of dust layering the inside of your tent, teammates with
crazy rashes, our girls shaving their heads, hours upon hours upon hours of
travel, car crashes and God’s ability to save us, God revealing Himself in new
ways, bug bites galore….Africa has been quite the experience.

After one month in Malawi, we have two months left here in
Africa. I am not sure what all to expect, but I am thankful for the blessing
that it is to be here.

Sadly month one I did not take nearly as many pictures as I
would have liked to. But this is a small collection of some of the things we
have been up to.

(First Sunday preaching in a church on a mountain!)

(The kids LOVE the camera)

(Church planting and door to door (a.k.a hut to hut))

(Woody, Kimberly and Rachel shaved their heads!!)

(Fitting WAY too many people in the flat bed of a truck…haha)

(Baptizing the locals!!)
