Alright people, I failed completely as far as the
preparation goes for weather. When I first signed on for this race, I was under
the impression that everything was timed so that we would be in warm weather
the entire team. Hello was I wrong! Ha. Right now, it is 40 degrees outside,
and all I originally brought was one long sleeved shirt to sleep in, a rain
jacket with ZERO lining for warmth and one pair of jeans. Yep, fail. THANK YOU
Bethsaida for the amazing gift of a super warm vest, it is saving my life. I
bought a zip-up and a scarf in Ireland, but I am about to bust out the wallet
and get some snow clothes. Melissa is convinced it is going to snow I hope she’s
wrong, but I think she is right. Haha.

It has been fun so far getting in the groove of things. We
have a lot more ministry we have yet to be a part of, but what we have done has
been…interesting.

Yep, those are Marmot’s… or as we call them, BEAVERS. A
little shout out to my OSU friends…woot woot. Go Beavs! Didn’t think I would be
in a cage full of them in my lifetime, but here we were.

Later that same day James busted out his hacky sack (yes
Zach..my brother…be proud, I was playing hacky sack and I definitely thought of
you..anyway :)!)…well, I got a little TOO excited and ended up kicking it so
hard it went on the roof. Thankfully Caleb is a monkey and climbed up there to
go get it :).

From what we have been told, it looks like our month will
consist of house visits (just walking around the village talking to people,
loving on them, seeing if we can help them in anyway, talking about God, and
just spending some QT (Quality time) with the locals), children’s ministry
every day (lesson and then games), visiting a single Mom’s shelter, potentially
HERDING SHEEP (Yes, that’s right, herding sheep…pray for me that this actually
comes to fruition!!), cleaning, and just blessing this ministry however we can.
It is run by a guy named Vitaly, who is a busy body and a go-getter, so it
should be a fun month!
