So last month there was another two teams from my squad that
stayed here in Cornesti, Moldova. One of the guys, Tommy Sherman, became really
invested in what they are doing here and actually wanted to set up a ‘beaver
business’. Basically what it entailed was making a shelter, buying a bunch of
beavers, have them reproduce, and then when there were about 1,000 beavers they
would start selling them (apparently they are a delicacy here in Moldova).
for all of their hard work on the shelter! They had to do a lot of preparation
before the shelter could start going up, and they worked hard this month! They
hadn’t begun the shelter yet, so it was up to our team to get it done.
Read Tommy Sullivan’s blog “what the hell am I doing?” It is pretty
funny, shows it from the guys perspective, and has even more picture.

needed to move from the top of the hill to the site of the shelter, which is
where we ladies came in. Now I am going to be honest, I have not really been
working out while on the race. In Haiti it was blistering hot, and here it is
really cold…so my motivation has been at an all time low. Needless to say, I am
out of shape. So moving rather heavy cinder blocks…my guess would be there were
about 500,349,234,246,153,235 (I mean, that’s what it felt like but it was
probably more around 500), I got a wee bit tired.
point, and that helped a lot.

building up the frame of the house.
There was cement mixing involved, gathering water from a
well which included using a wheel barrel to carry the water bin, laying cement
on the ground, for the wall…basically a lot of work. The boys were champs and
worked around the clock…even on our day off.
As our contact Vitally says, soon “they can make
multiplication.”
