It has been a crazy month here, and it is so close to coming to an end. Yesterday we went to tell people about Jesus near our ministry hosts church and let me tell you, this is something I am not used to, at all. To make us go even further into our comfort zone, we knocked on doors and people let us in. We had strangers from another country open their doors and let us in. We told our translator that in America people would rarely open their doors none the less let us inside their house. We met a variety of people however there was one girl who God chose for e to speak to. My small group of four people took turns talking and praying and when my turn came up we sat in a small bedroom, mattress on the floor, a timid girl who look terrified and lost hiding behind a door.

In that girl I saw myself. I saw the old Natalie stuck in a relationship, scared and unsure of where to go. She was the person I was supposed to talk to. Her being from a Muslim family she was scared of her family, she was afraid of the cost of leaving her family and coming into a new Father’s arms. But, she still was curious, she still wanted to learn more, and the main thing I wanted her to know that she has protection, that the Lord who died for us and bearded our sins on the cross for us is all the protection she needs. You could tell that it was scary for her to let these white strangers into her house and tell her about this guy named Jesus. But she said yes, she wants to get to know more about home, she wants to see this protection and love for her. She wants to meet the guy who has a special place in his heart for just her and who fights for her.

Later on while watching Cinderella for a girls movie night God showed me what the theme of the day was. That theme was have courage and be kind. I didn’t get to tell that girl those exact words but I did get to tell her that she is protected and that God is fighting for her heart. I hope (there was a language barrier) that she understood that with God comes kindness.  God told me during my first door to door adventure that day to be kind and have courage. He wants to know our words can move others towards him. The Lord has told us  to take courage because He has overcome. He has overcome death and the world to save us from being scared. He overcame to save us from being lonely and feeding into the enemy’s lies about our worth. We are worth so much to the Lord, so we must remember to “Have courage and be Kind”
