A long time ago a wise man named Elvis Presley once said that fools rush in. There was another wise man during a time before that, who stated in the Bible that fools rush in as well. You might be wondering what these fools are rushing into; well those crazy fools are rushing into love. The fools that Paul is talking about in 1 Corinthians are fools for the Lord. God made the wisdom of the world foolish and to the world the followers and lovers of Christ are fools.

While in Sunyani, Ghana last month we went out evangelizing a lot. We met a lot of different people while out on the streets of the city and the surrounding villages. Some loved meeting us and told us of their dreams of visiting America. Others weren’t really sure what to say to us, some even wanted to please our ears by telling us an answer that wasn’t true to what they believe. However there was one type of group who I had a hard time facing. Those were the ones who wanted to make fun of us, and make what we were doing into a joke. Those people wanted to make us into fools. However, we already claimed ourselves as fools. We already claimed ourselves as those crazy Jesus people, going along the streets of Ghana singing songs, and proclaiming the Gospel. We didn’t need new people telling us that we were a few fries short of a happy meal. It’s not really normal to pack your all your stuff for a year into two different backpacks. So proudly I will call myself a fool, because God gave us the wisdom from Himself to preach his holy name and words.
