One thing I know about myself is that I can be forgetful. I am one of those people who forget everything (except names I am surprisingly good at) but I can never pack ahead of times because I usually at the last minute remember everything I need for a trip. Like this trip for instance I forgot a lot of stuff and ended up having to stop by Wal-Mart on the way to launch. I am forgetful and sometimes I forget the very important things. One being praying, more importantly never ceasing to pray.
It’s our first full week here in Abidjan, Cote D’ ivore and the Lord has shown me a lot. However one thing God reminded me was to pray. The Lord of course sent this reminder to me in the most cliché World Race spots ever, in my Eno. I was laying out reading with a lot of other people from my team and this little girl from the compound comes over to play with us. (Why not we are a bunch of white people she has never seen before)Of course she decided that my hammock was a comfy looking hammock, and that was hammock to play in. I was fortunate enough to be in that same hammock, because in one second she went from being playful and monkeying around, to grabbing my hands and putting them together and said for me to pray. We sat there face to face, hands touching hands, praying. In that moment I knew God had sent her to me to remind to never stop praying. To never cease praying.
Within the first three days of being here in Africa God sent me this little girl telling me, no reminding me in a truly Godly fashion to pray without ceasing. Being out here relying on the Lord to help provide for you and your team one can only pray for what they need from the Lord. That one tiny moment will probably live with me for the rest of my life. Thank you Mikka for changing my life and for your childlike faith and for reminding me to pray.

Update:
Cote Divore is amazing and I have fallen in love with this country.
When in Africa, dance. I haven’t dance this much before in my life, and I am true lover of a good dance party.
I am still about $850 away from my September goal of $13,000
