I’m always at a loss of words when it comes time for me to
explain future plans. I’m sure all of you have been in my shoes too. All the
times in your life when people ask what’s next? Usually the questions come
after high school, college and in between jobs. Even though this question,
“What are you doing next?” really just shows that the person asking it is
interested and cares about you, somehow most of the time it makes me feel a
small bit of anxiety. Maybe you can relate. A lot of times it feels like there
is this unspoken sense of pressure that comes with this question. Such as you
better make a wise choice or else you will be miserable the rest of your life
and may end up begging on a street corner. In reality this isn’t the case. The
person is just curious and wants the best for you.
     I say all this jokingly
because I want to tell you the direction that God is leading my life. In
America there is so much pressure to have a good job so that you can have a
secure future and good life. This is not bad and many of you God is using you
in this environment to reach out to co-workers and be a light in the work
place. God is calling me to live in a different way, to not settle for the
normal American dream.

     God has been
placing this call to go to the people who don’t have hope and don’t know Jesus,
to the untouched and unloved, and to the empty and brokenhearted all my life.
God has placed this call on my life since before I was born and my parents
dedicated me to the Lord after I was born. He has put people in my life who
have challenged me to live my life in a way that others see Jesus in me. It
really is beautiful to look back and see the role that so many people have
played in helping me on this journey. Sunday school teachers, strong women of
faith in my church, Pastors, friends,
and family have all encouraged me and helped me to be who I am today.

     This year I have
realized this call. God has awakened my heart to His heart. He is helping me to
see people and situations through His eyes. I want to go to the nations and
bring his love to them. It’s in the moments when I get to hold a lonely child
or pray for a sick person or just sit with an elderly women that I feel alive.
There are so many that need to be reached. There are so many that still need to
know about Jesus and His love and
grace.

     God is calling
me to take a step of faith and not conform to the normal American life. He’s
calling me to step out to dream big and
ask Him for the nations. All the amazing men and women of the Bible had to step
out and take chances at one point in their life most several times throughout
their lifetime. Most had to leave the comforts of the life that they knew and
go into unknown lands. I think of Nehemiah who had a comfortable job as the
king’s cupbearer, yet left knowing he needed to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem.
He made this choice before even knowing that the king would support him and
give him supplies. Ruth stayed with her mother-in-law even though it meant
leaving her people, having nothing and maybe being a widow the rest of her
life. Esther went to the king on behalf of her people knowing that she could
lose her life for doing such a thing yet also knowing her life was in God’s
hands. She had to be obedient to the true king. I could go on and on with
examples of people who stepped out of their own comfort and sometimes lost
their life for being obedient to God and devoting their life to making his name
known.

      So what’s the
next step for me you ask? At the conference God showed me a direction for my
life and what he wants me to do next. There is a school called G42 and it’s
purpose is to train this generation to reach the nations with the hope of
Jesus. It will teach me to know the gifts and strengths that God has given me
and to step out and lead others. It will better equip me for reaching the
world.

     This can’t be
done alone though and that is where you come in. I need people to partner with
me. Not everyone is able to go and not everyone can stay. God has made the body
of Christ to be different so that each part can play it’s role in helping the
others and by doing this we come together and reach the world. None of this
year would have happened with out the support I have received from all of you
at home. Not only am I speaking about financially but also spiritually. It is
through all the prayers that you prayed and notes of encouragement that God
worked this year.

     So I ask you
this question, would you continue to partner with me? G42 is in Spain and
classes start on January 5th and will go six months. Will you
continue to pray, encourage and financially support this calling on my life? If
this is something that you would like to be involved in would you email me and
let me know how you would like to commit in being a part of this. I’d also love
to answer any questions you may have. If you would like to check out the
website it’s http://www.g42leadershipacademy.org/. I look forward to hearing from you! Oh my email is [email protected].
