I’ve felt like a little girl again at different times this
week, as we have jumped right into living in a house with 31 girls and spend
time dancing, coloring and playing other games. The girls’ ages range from 7-16. All live here because they don’t have good home situations (at risk of being sold into the sex industry) or don’t have
family at all. Currently all aren’t in the house as schools here are on break
and some are able to go home for it, but all will be back on the 18th. Its seemed very busy and only about 15
have lived with us this week so we aren’t sure how crazy it will be when all
are home! In the midst of feeling a little overwhelmed by living in the bedroom
next to theirs, God is giving us his love for them. They are so full of energy
and joy. It’s frustrating to not be able to communicate fully but some know a
little English and what is maybe lacking in words is made up for with laughter
and gestures.

Most mornings if the rooster doesn’t wake us first then we
wake up to the sound of their voices yelling one of our names and peeking their
heads in the door. They are always eager for us to play with them and love
teaching us their games. Even though they know we don’t speak Khmer they still
sometimes will talk to us as if we understood. Each is very sweet and we look
forward to spending another month with them! The pictures below are of the home
and some of the girls.
