Hello supporters!
The first few weeks of the Fellowship program are officially in the books! While our schedule has been full of conferences, presentations, and meetings, we’ve also dedicated a good amount of time to determining why exactly we came to the Fellowship (for more on my “why”, please read my blog: “My ‘Why'” ).
One of the first events we attended as a Fellowship class was the “Hearing the Voice of God” conference hosted and taught right here at Adventures in Missions. It was an opportunity to receive additional teaching and to also see how Adventures is making headway in impacting the Gainesville community around them. A great start! Another conference we attended was put on by the National Institute of Christian Leadership (NICL) with Mark Rutland as the keynote speaker. It was truly a blessing to have the opportunity to hear Dr. Rutland teach for two and half days on “Transformational Management” and how to lead strategically through organizational periods of growth and change. Finishing up the first week, each Fellow gave their presentation on why we joined the Fellowship. It was helpful and eye-opening to see where each of us is coming from, where we’re looking to go, and potentially how we can push each other to get there.
We started off our second week in the Fellowship by presenting (in groups) our thoughts on an innovative solution to a gap we see at Adventures. It was an opportunity to work as a team, allowing each Fellow’s passions to be accounted for and represented in the final product. Anyone on staff at Adventures who wanted to attend was invited – and we had a FULL room! Each presentation went well and the Adventures staff were impressed by the amount of effort and research that went into each proposal – given only two days to prepare. We also found out this week that we will continue to work on these projects throughout the Fellowship program and at the end, we will present to the leadership team – with an opportunity to see one of our proposals implemented at Adventures!
The day after our presentations we were introduced into the roles we would be assuming for the duration of our time in the Fellowship. I am working in the 2-3 Year Programs department – which houses most of the Adventures alumni programs such as Center for Global Action (CGA), Kingdom Journeys (KJ), Beauty for Ashes (B4A) and the Fellowship program! As the weeks and months continue, I will keep you updated on the types of projects I’m working on and dive into each program in more detail. Bottomline: everyday I am able to see that the work I’m doing impacts the lives of those around me as well as all over the world. It’s truly a privilege to be a part of Adventures – to serve them with my time, experience and resources – and to seek Kingdom alongside them.
Happy Friday! Have a wonderful weekend!
For His Glory,
Nat
My next financial deadline is on November 15th ($6,500). Will you please prayerfully consider joining my financial and prayer support team? Through the work that I do here at Adventures, God has given me a platform where I can interact with and impact a group of world-changers. Will you join that work as well?
You can make a one-time or monthly donation through my blog (click on the “Support Me” link on the left side of the page). You can join my prayer team by sending me your email address (you will receive a weekly prayer update email directly from me). I am blessed by and thankful for you!
