Before coming on the race and for several years, I have had several upon several people prophecy over me that the Lord has granted me with a gift of healing, which I feel like I knew before, but it has been confirmed time and time again. I had one lady tell me that sometimes I may not even need to pray I just need to touch people and the healing anointing that the Lord has placed on my life will flow into their bodies. Her encouragement for me was to touch as many people as I can. As I have been walking in this gift for several years now, I have never felt it so evident and so real as I did in Honduras.

Typically what happens is my hands get really, extremely hot and that’s how I know I am supposed to pray for someone. Because I know this, I am able to recognize it quicker and I find myself looking for who the person or the people are I am supposed to touch or pray for. Here in Honduras, almost everyday my hands were on fire. As soon as I would pray for whoever I felt lead, it would instantly go away and then come back when there was another person who the Lord was calling me to lay my hands on. Perhaps it was that we were surrounded by sick people all the time, but even when I was on the buses it would happen and I would find someone and pray for them.

One Sunday morning I went to church with my team and a couple of the other teams from our Squad. When we walked into the church my hands were burning, more than usual. I looked around and never felt like the Lord was giving me any direction or guidance. In that moment, I just decided to wait patiently on Him instead of trying to force something. The church service started still not knowing who to pray for exactly. I was sitting by my sweet friend Jenny and one of my best friends Haleigh was sitting beside her.

As the service went on, the preacher said that the Lord gave her a specific word for today that wasn’t what her notes were on. She said that she was going to talk about miracles, healing, and the power of God. I instantly knew that this is why my hands were hot.

At one point during the service she had us all sit down, pray, and ask the Lord to reveal himself to us in that moment. It was then that God told me to put my hands on Haleigh’s wrist, which was fractured and had a cast on it. In my mind, I was like, “Really God? She is a two seats away from me, Jenny is seeking you, and so is Haleigh. Is this really your best timing?” Before I could sit there and justify why the timing wasn’t now, Jenny, who was sitting in between me and Haleigh felt lead to get my hands and place them on Haleigh’s cast. So she did. I was awe struck at God’s sovereignty.

After the service, Nidia, our contact’s wife, and some of the teams that were there were going to pray for Haleigh’s wrist. Nidia decided to also get the pastor to pray with us.

So as we all layed hands on her and prayed for her. After we were done praying, she began to take her cast off. As she was doing that, I stretched her fingers out and she said the pain was all gone. The cast was completely off, the swelling was gone, and the pain was no more!!!!! Amazed and overwhelmed with His goodness, she fell to her knees crying and everyone around her rejoiced in the victory we share in Jesus.

Later after the service, I was discussing it with her and she said that morning the Lord told her He was going to heal her hand. She also prayed during the service that if that was really Him than He would confirm it through playing the song Healing Rain, which she once sang over another lady who received healing. No later than 2 minutes after she prayed that, this Spanish speaking church began to sing Healing Rain in English. It was after that that they Lord spoke to me to lay my hands on her and revealed to Jenny to place them there.

What a God of great timing and great order we serve. We may be a people of great number but what a testimony of the same Holy Spirit that is leading us all in accordance to His will. The question is Will we follow his leading?

Because of this miracle the Lord did, faith was stretched and birthed within those around who witnessed it, love was given, gifts were used, and all the glory was the Lord’s.

I pray that you too would feel equipped for such things as this. That you would be lead by the Spirit in ways that may not seem normal, like hot hands. That you would find boldness in your faith and release that into others through your hands being an extension of His power.
