The architecture in Romania tells part of the story of communism and decay. The land itself is strikingly beautiful; the buildings display hints of melancholy. Beauty has never seemed more important to me than now, in the place where beauty has been discarded as a frivolous luxury. Utility does not demand beauty, even when the human soul does.
Beauty speaks to our inner selves and invites us to consider the vastness of eternity. Beauty awakens humility in us and fills us with awe. Beauty breathes life into memories and reawakens dreams that hide during the day. Beauty invigorates the spirit, and catapults us easily into worship of the Beauty-Maker. Beauty highlights the shadows and edges of the face of God.
Beauty is evidence of abundance & life.

Beauty, oh Beauty,
You’re needed here!
With your whimsical colors
and your changing seasons
come
Come kiss this land
Come dance with the valleys
And sing with the trees
A declaration of life!
Make war with gray concrete and blank eyes
Make war, oh Beauty!
Beauty, oh Beauty,
You’re needed here!
With your frivolities
and your subtle delights
come
Come awake this land
Come sprinkle your seeds
Over the ashes
A declaration of life!
Impregnate minds with expectation
Impregnate hearts, oh Beauty!
Beauty, oh Beauty,
You’re needed here!
With your truth-telling ways
and your restoration
come
Come heal this land
come
Come free this land

For the invisible things of him, his eternal power and divinity, are clearly understood by the creation of the world and by the things that are made so that there is no excuse — Romans 1:20
